Karnataka Assembly poll dates: Times Now, Suvarna News file reply to Election Commission

The Election Commission on Wednesday received responses from two TV news channels, a day after it set up a committee to probe the alleged leak of Karnataka Assembly election dates.
The Times Now news channel informed the electoral body that it accessed the details about the poll schedule from informed sources. тАЬGiven that the information wasnтАЩt entirely accurate, it is obvious it wasnтАЩt a leak,тАЭ said the letter uploaded on the CommissionтАЩs website.
Another letter by Suvarna News to the Commission said that for national news, it largely relied upon national news channels and it had taken the news after Times Now broke it. .
The Congress on Wednesday questioned the ECтАЩs decision not to summon BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya who had tweeted partially correct poll dates before the CommissionтАЩs announcement.
