Gorakhpur: Madrassa students 'feel good' to learn Sanskrit

In the recent past, the education in Madrassas has taken a modern turn for the benefit of the students. The Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said last October, NCERT books are being introduced in the madrassa across the state after the suggestion by the state Madrassa Board.
Gorakhpur: The students of Gorakhpur’s Darul Uloom Husainia Madrassa are learning Sanskrit in addition to learning Hindi, Urdu and English. This is the best example of communal harmony in the city. The students of the madrassa said that they have enjoyed learning the language so far and they gave credits to the teachers who are teaching them well. “We feel good to learn Sanskrit. Our teachers teach and explain things very well. Even our parents help us in learning,” a student told ANI. Hafiz Nazre Alam, the principal of the Madrassa said that the institution under the Uttar Pradesh Education Board is also teaching languages like Arabic too. “Subjects like English, Hindi, Science, Maths, Urdu and Arabic are taught here. Sanskrit is now being taught to all students above Class 5. The madrassas are minority educational institute that offers study on religious law and Islamic theology. There are about 19,000 recognised madrassa and 560 aided ones operating in the state.
