BJP on Thursday sought an explanation from Congress president Rahul Gandhi alleging that an internal letter of CPI (Maoists) purportedly pointed to funds received by the banned outfit from Congress to spread “chaos” in the country to tarnish the Modi government in the run-up to next year’s Lok Sabha polls.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi should explain the role of his party in Bhima-Koregaon violence that has been exposed in the Maoist internal letter,” said BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra. He said the Bhima-Koregaon agitation in Maharashtra was manufactured with Congress using Dalits as a “tool” to come back to power.
“The document has exposed Congress like never before and has stripped it of every cloth of modesty,” Patra said. Quoting from the letter, the BJP leader said it proved that Dalits were being used as a tool in the Bhima-Koregaon violence in Maharashtra around the New Year. BJP’s attack came a day after the Pune police arrested five people allegedly having close links with Maoists.
