NEW DELHI: On Wednesday, the equity benchmarks erased gains twice during the trade session to eventually finish flat. 30-share BSE Sensex closed 16.06 points above previous closing mark at 35,176.42. The broader 50-share NSE Nifty on the other hand, finished in the red but managed to stay above the psychological mark of 10,700 Twice during the trading- once at opening and then at mid-day Sensex went past the 35,300-mark but could not hold on to the gains as all sectoral sub-indices with the exception of Nifty Financial Services and FMCG finished with losses. Metal (3.43 per cent) and PSU Bank (2.50 per cent) accounted for most of the lossesThe indices had closed in the green for the last three sessions.Kotak Mahindra Bank, ITC and Asian Paints topped the charts while Tata Steel, ICICI Bank and Hindustan Unilever lost the most.
