Weightloss is a strenuous journey but one that leads to a better version of yourself. Arpit Pipersaniya lost 46 kilograms in a span of two years because he was determined about changing his body for forever. Without any professional help for one and a half year, Arpit was able to shed kilos efficiently. By eating foods such as ghee and butter, foods that we often restrain from during such times, Arpit lost a massive amount of weight. Here’s how he did it:
Name: Arpit Pipersaniya
Occupation: Software Engineer
Age: 24
Highest weight recorded: 109 kilos
Weight lost: 46 kilos
Duration it took me to lose weight: Since the time I started, in a year I lost 20 kilos and then didn’t follow anything. I was 86 kilograms in late 2016. I started following a routine and shed down another 14 kilograms in May 2017. Then, I hired a nutritionist and reached 63 kilograms and achieved a six pack in September 2017.
NOTE: From 109 kilograms to 72 kilograms, I did it completely on my own with the help of research.
The turning point: What impelled me to change was that my body had turned into complete flab. I wanted to take destiny in my hands and change my weakness of being fat into my strength of being fit.
My breakfast: Soy chunks, any green vegetable, ghee or butter or coconut oil and either rice or poha
My lunch: Paneer, beetroot, potatoes, rice, ghee or butter or coconut oil
My snacks: Almonds or apples or whey protein or oats with milk, greek yoghurt
My dinner: Rajma, curd, ghee or butter or coconut oil and rice
I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): I rarely have cheat days but when I do, I make sure to eat whatever comes my way.
Favourite ones – brownie and shakes.
My workout: I follow different routines from a leading workout site. The duration of my workout is usually around 35-70 minutes depending on the routine.
Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Adding more green vegetables and fruits (with less sugar).
Fitness secrets I unveiled: It appears to be hard until you get on the track. Once you’re there and see progress, it becomes downright hard to go off the track. Many people believe that adding slabs of muscles to body requires non-vegetarian food. I ended up defying their belief.
How do I stay motivated?
The one who is naturally inclined towards achieving their goal does not need any external motivation or inspiration or even the need to make a resolution! Being a pure vegetarian was another challenge, and more so for those around me, watching me assiduously transform myself. I had a horde of ‘well-wishers’ who would incessantly pour suggestions like ‘eat eggs,’ or ‘eat chicken as it would help me gain muscle. There were suggestions that switching over to a new diet would improve and even accelerate my progress. However, for me, the path I had chosen for myself was uncompromising yet totally satisfying. No eggs, no chicken, no non-vegetarian food for me. I’m a happy vegetarian.
How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?
I focus on the path I’m travelling. I know I’m mortal and that impels me to do what is truly needed in life.
What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?
The most difficult part of being overweight is OVERWEIGHT itself.
What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?
I have never managed myself to fit into any description as I’m an evolving possibility. But to answer this question – 10 years down the line, I’ll be a better and greater version of myself.
What are the lifestyle changes you made?
There is a complete shift if you compare the food I had been consuming when I was fat. I’ve assimilated healthy foods in my regime and I truly cherish that. I’ve become a better cook as I cook my food myself.
What was the lowest point for you?
Well for me, failure and success are just ideas if we are seeking a larger possibility in life.
I never worked hard because I know working hard makes things harder. So, what I do is put strenuous and incisive efforts joyfully.
Lessons learnt from weight loss: Prayer doesn’t help unless we work and everything is within reach if we operate consciously.
