Srijit Mukherji is on cloud nine right now. The eminent director’s ‘Uma’ has already been selected for several international film festivals even before the film’s release in June. He has also wrapped up the shoot of ‘Ek Je Chilo Raja’. The dubbing part is now underway.Featuring Jisshu Sengupta in the titular role, the film will see Jaya Ahsan as the king’s elder sister. Director Srijit reportedly revealed that the Bangladeshi actress efficiently served the role of an accent coach for her co-actors. Jaya apparently helped everyone to correct the dialect of Bhawal.
‘Ek Je Chilo Raja’ is a period drama based on ‘A Princely Imposter’ by Partha Chatterjee. It even draws inspiration from the infamous ‘Bhawal Sanyasi’ court case. Apart from Jisshu and Jaya, the film has a stellar cast including Aparna Sen, Rudranil Ghosh, Anjan Dutta, Anirban Bhattacharya and Tanushree Chakraborty.Meanwhile, up next for Jaya is Birsa Dasgupta’s ‘Crisscross’. Jaya will be seen as an uptight businesswoman in this film.
